How to clean a silk sweater without dry cleaning it?

I bought a silk sweater from a thrift store, and I would like to sanitize it somehow without having to take it to the drycleaners. Thanks!|||Handwash in cold water then drip dry|||you could buy a steamer that would do it, instead of washing it /dry cleaning it. works on other clothes too.
