How do I get oil out of a silk pillow case?

One of those air freshener wall plug ins leaked oil onto a decorative bed pillow (silk material) and now theres a huge spot! Is it possible to completely rid the silk pillow case of the spot? If so, how? HELP!|||I'm assuming the pillow case is machine-washable?

If so, simply rub some dishwashing liquid into the stain. Let that sit for about 20 minutes. Then launder as usual.

It doesn't matter which brand of dishwashing liquid you use. Most people recommend Dawn, but I've found that others work just as well...Joy, Palmolive, Ajax, even some store brands, like Kirkland.

Dishwashing liquid is made to remove oil. Laundry detergent is not. The dishwashing liquid will remove the oil.

Naturally, if the pillow case is not machine-washable, ask your dry cleaner if they can remove the spot.

-|||If it is silk take it to the dry cleaners they have spotting boards where they can treat the spot and remove it with air or steam . If it is polyester which can look like silk you can spot treat it and wash it.|||try ammonia in warm water with detergent , leave o/night and then rewash by hand
