What's the probability of finding an exact match with the silk fabric of my childhood blanket?

I its possible to find the exact same stitched fabric? Black silk. Where would I go to find a match?|||Fabrics change so often you cannot even find what is shown in quilt magazines unless you order their kits.

So, the chances are zero.

Black would seem easy, but once you start comparing, what you think is black may be brown-black or gray-black.

Keep looking and consider replacing all of the black if you are replacing a portion of the blanket.

Are you sure the fabic is silk and not poly?|||Your chances are almost none. Fabric that is woven on the same day may have differences from bolt to bolt. I'd suggest you start visiting fabric stores -- JoAnn's, Hancock Fabrics, and local quilt stores. Take the blanket with you, or take a very good close up picture. You won't find the exact fabric, but you might find something close.|||Depending on how old you are, it might be quite difficult to find the same fabric. It changes just like everything else. They always find "improvements"
