Can someone tell me if Dupioni silk is made by harming silk worms or not?

My friend wants to use the Dupioni silk from India to make fashion bags and wants to make sure that silk worms are not harmed during this process. If so does anyone have other suggestions?|||If it's real silk - from silkworms....then yes, they are harmed in the process. When they pupate, the cocoons are boiled and un-wound to get the silk. The larvae do not survive that process.

If you need an organic fabric or material that does not come from animals, cotton or linen are options.|||Sheep and Alpaca wool is harvested (sheared) with no harm whatsoever to the animal. In fact, shearing is necessary for their comfort.
