I have a silk comforter made with silk batting that I'd like to wash. Is it okay to wash in the washer/dryer? Or does this take special cleaning methods?
I bought comforter/duvet in China on a trip there. Instructions were included but they were in Chinese!|||As others have mentioned, you should absolutely dry clean it, or have it professionally "wet cleaned." Although you can machine or hand-wash many silk items in water, the silk floss used as batting in your comforter is not designed for machine washing.|||take it to a dry cleaner|||Do NOT put it in the washer, period!!!! Take it to the dry cleaners to properly clean it or it will come a part and deteriorate. You will be very disappointed if you wash it|||I wouldn't take a chance on washing it. Take it to a dry cleaners.|||You dont. You take it to a dry cleaner and ask them so someone on the internet that you don't even know tells you to wash it with bleach and coke and mentos. And you belive them.
