How do you make silk flowers smell like real flowers?

Hi,I just love doing flower arrangements and have just been asked to do some wedding flowers for a bride. She wants silk artificial flowers.

I was just wondering if any one would know how to make silk flowers smell like real fresh flowers, Thanks! :)|||Spray them heavily with body spray or some sort of perfume that smells like a flower!|||You can't. They're fake flowers. Even if you spray them with perfume, it will just smell like perfume-sprayed fake flowers. Ick....|||You can't. That's why people choose fresh flowers is because you can't recreate the smell. You can spray them with floral perfume but that isn't the same.|||Okay, first off - completely avoid perfumes or anything similar. Yuck. Loads of people are allergic to that stuff.

You might be able to try essential oils. They are extracted from the natural flowers, and very potent. A tiny amount in each arrangement should do it.

EDIT: Okay, it seems like very few people have an understanding of what an essential oil is. Like I already said, it's a flower extract. I'm not talking about the artificially scented stuff you can also get in little vials, I'm talking about oil that is pressed out of flowers themselves. So it DOES smell like roses if it's rose oil, lilies if it's lily oil, etc. Some people MAY be allergic, but they usually have a reaction to the oil on their skin, not to the smell. It's flower POLLEN that most people who sneeze around flowers have a problem with. Sadly, almost any question about silk flowers will bring out people passionate about using real flowers, and they'll insult any idea pertaining to silk flowers - even if the "silks or real" debate has already been settled by the poster and is irrelevant.

Essential oils CAN irritate the skin and should be diluted with some kind of vegetable-based oil, and some are easily flammable, so use with caution.|||I would not even attempt scenting the silks, unless the bride requested it. She may be having silks because someone in the bridal party is allergic to real flowers and scents.

if bride does want the flowers scented.|||Hi. You can't. I agree with the others that say....do NOT spray with perfume or any type of "oils." The reason that brides choose silks is usually for the cost and also because some are allergic to the flowers. Spraying them would NOT be a good idea. Besides.....you can make anything artificial smell like the real thing.|||I think it might be possible, actually...
