How do I clean a silk gown that has toddler puke on it?

I have a $2,000 pure silk evening gown...that now has toddler puke on the bust (some on the outside, and running down the inside of the bust). Will a dry cleaner clean something with puke on it? Or should I try something at home? Help! Love the dress and desperately want to fix it.|||A very good dry cleaner could take care of this, but ask before you leave such an expensive dress with any old corner store.|||A very good dry cleaner could take care of this, but make sure it's in good hands!hope this helps!

|||i think the dry cleaners can fix it but i think you should just look on the tag if you dont want to pay for something you could have done at home|||TMI|||take regular water to it to rinse it, then wash it how you normally do, it should be fine|||um try the dry cleaners first then wash it by hand if u cant take it there|||Ummm idk??????????? :(|||I wouldn't risk doing it yourself, take it to a dry cleaners and see if they can do it. Ask them before you hand it in, though!|||I would not risk doing it at home. Take it to a dry cleaner (they deal with worse than that) and get their advice. They are better prepared to handle silk than you. Good luck.|||OK its better off going to a dry cleaner because they no lot about stains believe me i had a white pretty gown dress and i went out and i spilled fruit punch on it and then someone bump into me with a plate full of spaghetti sauce and i no how you feel but with up chuck on it but it might cost a little but its well worth it believe me if you love it but dry cleaners have special chemicals that they create or get but it works allot but if you insist doing it yourself carefully because you will never no if the stuff works ....|||Oh I'm Sorry! We've been cleaning up puke all week long around here. I would take it to the cleaners but you've GOT to at least get some of the acid out right away. This is gross, but a friend of mine that is also battling this virus with her family left puke on an expensive couch pillow for three days while they figured out how to clean it. The acid from the vomit actually ate through the fabric and though it is now clean, the fabric is ruined/burnt. At least get the acid out before you take it to the cleaner.
